Who is Rolling With The Spectrum

G’day, I’m Jamie

I’m the founder and creator of Rolling With The Spectrum.

If you’d told me years ago that I’d one day be talking openly about autism, neurodiversity, mental health and raising a neurodivergent family, I probably wouldn’t have believed you.

For much of my life, I knew I experienced the world differently, but I didn’t really understand why. Like many people diagnosed autistic later in life, I became pretty good at adapting, masking and simply pushing through. Receiving my diagnosis didn’t change who I was — but it helped me understand myself and my life in a completely different way.

I’m also a dad to two amazing daughters, including my youngest, who is autistic and has ADHD. Being both an autistic adult and a parent has given me two very different perspectives on neurodivergent life — and shown me just how important understanding, acceptance and genuine inclusion can be.

Why I Started Rolling With The Spectrum

Rolling With The Spectrum started with a pretty simple idea: share our experiences and hopefully help someone else along the way.

It’s grown into a place where I can talk openly about the things that don’t always make it into textbooks — late diagnosis, parenting, autistic burnout, everyday challenges, mental health, family life, the funny moments and the wins that make everything worthwhile.

The name Rolling With The Spectrum represents exactly that. Life rarely goes perfectly to plan. Sometimes you have to adapt, change direction, learn as you go and just roll with it.

But RWTS isn’t about pretending that my experience represents every autistic person. Autism is a spectrum, and everyone’s experience is different. I’m simply sharing our lived experience, while creating a place where others can share theirs too.

Whether you’re autistic or otherwise neurodivergent, a parent, carer, family member, educator, friend, or you’re simply trying to understand someone in your life, you’re welcome here.

Real people. Real experiences. One community.

Rolling With The Spectrum shares lived experience and general information. I’m not a medical professional, and the content isn’t intended to replace professional medical or mental-health advice.

Our Community

Different people, Different Experiences. One Community

Rolling With The Spectrum is about bringing together Autistic and Neurodivergent people, parents, carers and families through shared lived experience.

A Place to Connect

Sometimes the most valuable support comes from simply talking to someone gets it.

Rolling With The Spectrum is creating a community where people can share experiences, ask questions, celebrate the wins and talk openly (without judgment) about the difficult days.

You're Part of the Story

I want the community to have a voice too.
